I picked up my first camera when I was 12-years-old and I fell in love with the idea of freezing a moment in time. I reveled in being able to look at the picture and relive that moment in a person’s life.

I decided to change my passion for photography from a hobby into a business and started shooting professionally in 2005.

 

I am drawn to candid shots filled with emotion, so I tend to shoot with a photo-journalistic style. These shots show what is true to the individual and I love capturing that raw emotion. I cater my shoots to fit the individual or family’s specific needs and bring their unique vision to life. It’s important to me to build a bond with my clients and it is a joy to capture their true essence while watching them and their families grow. I work with an amazing team, who shares my passion for capturing and creating moments for our clients to cherish for a lifetime. 

 

My son, Miles, accompanies me on many of my shoots and I strive to be a good example for him. I want him to learn the importance of paying attention to details, building positive relationships with others, and understanding the importance of giving back by helping others in need.

 

It is through the strong support of my family and my faith in God that I am able to share my gift with those who need it most.

I formed Matters of the Heart, a service that provides photography services to capture special moments for single parents, families with sick love ones, military families whose love ones are in the middle of combat, and those in transitional housing.  We also work with kids in school who are considered underprivileged. It is our goal to provide comfort to those in need by providing an experience that captures a genuine smile forever. You may or may not also know that I am part of a blended family. I was raised in one and now raising my son in one. My goal is to spread love and light,  along with sharing my family's successes and trials to help and inspire others. We’re not perfect, but we work hard to blend perfectly.
